What makes us unusually effective

  1. We’re full service

We offer award winning creative and design inhouse to enhance our brand strategy, PR marketing, partnerships, content creation, events and activations.
  2. We read the room

We work across multiple communities and spaces – and are often navigating different generations, ethnicities and political views.
  3. We know uncertainty

Born out of the Christchurch earthquakes, we know how to spot opportunity and keep momentum flowing in ever-changing and uncertain times.
  4. We're well connected

From media, iwi, government and corporates, to artists, scientists and sportspeople — we have firm friendships across Aotearoa. And our friends become your friends.
  5. We see the bigger picture

We make sure brands are thinking about the whole picture, not just the bottom line and bring a wholesome lens to all projects.
  6. 1+1 = 10 in our world

We approach everything we do with a strong sense of abundance and collaboration. No matter what the budget, we maximise impact through our network of generous partners and suppliers.
  7. We're proudly BCorp

10 years ago we were the third business in Aotearoa to meet the highest standards of social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability. We walk the walk.

One New Zealand Stadium

As Ōtautahi prepared for the opening of One New Zealand Stadium, One NZ wanted to ensure they showed up as more than a naming-rights partner. They recognised the stadium as one of Christchurch's defining post-quake milestones, and wanted to celebrate it in a way that felt authentic, generous, and genuinely connected to the city. But how to do that from a local’s perspective, and get national reach?

Brown Bread’s initial research revealed something important: as opening day approached, the conversation had shifted from infrastructure to emotion. Rather than telling people how to feel, we helped One NZ create space for Christchurch to tell its own story through local voices, trusted media, diverse content creators and community champions. Together, the campaign generated more than 850,000 views across creator content, alongside earned media that attracted 1.48 million+ digital unique visitors and reached a print audience of 1 million+, ensuring one of Christchurch's defining civic moments was celebrated well beyond the city itself.
